Medical Guardian FAQs
How does Medical Guardian work?
If you need help, follow these steps:
- Press Your Help Button
Whether you’re using a home base unit, wearable help button, fall detection pendant, or a mobile device, simply press the button to connect with our 24/7 Monitoring Center. - Share What You Need
Once connected, let the emergency operator know what’s happening and who should be contacted—whether that’s a family member, caregiver, or emergency services. If it’s not a medical emergency, you can ask us to reach out to someone in your Care Circle. - We’re Here, Even If You Can’t Respond
If you’re unable to speak or too far from your home base unit, our operators will dispatch help to your device’s location.
Does Medicare or Medicaid cover Medical Guardian systems?
Some insurance providers, including certain Medicare Advantage or Medicaid plans, may cover the cost of a medical alert system. Because coverage varies, we recommend contacting your provider directly to find out what’s available to you.
Are all Medical Guardian devices waterproof?
All Medical Guardian help buttons and mobile devices are water-resistant and safe to take in the shower.
What is Medical Guardian’s refund policy?
While Medical Guardian does not currently offer a free trial, you can cancel your subscription at any time with no cancellation fee. If you prepaid for a longer-term plan, such as an annual subscription, you’ll receive a prorated refund for any unused service.
If you chose to lease equipment instead of purchasing a device, a restocking fee of up to $50 may apply when returning the equipment. Members who purchased their devices may be eligible for a restore credit if they choose to return and recycle the device.
Get Protected!
Don’t let concerns about falls or emergencies limit your independence. With a medical alert system, help is just the press of a button away, connecting you to immediate assistance with an average response time of 30-60 seconds.
